Hi everyone,
I did not plan to write that post but during the weekend I had a sudden willing to do a challenge. Over time challenges have been proved to be great energy and motivation for me. And I love Collage Lettering. I actually just launched a course about it.
At the beginning of the year, I bought a sketchbook with the objective to practice collage every day. You guess it, it did last a few days/weeks. But I loved it. And I loved it, just like all my challenges, because it does put me out of my confort zone. It does take into experimentation, even when I don’t feel like it. I try and I try again. And in these days of changes in my life, I need that kind of positive vibe.
So from tomorrow, I will cut a collage lettering piece everyday, for 30 days. No real pressure, I just sit at my desk everyday and find something to say or to cut. And if I like it, I post it on Instagram.
Join me!
But as for every challenge I do online, I like to invite people to join me and do the challenge too. This can be motivating to see others playing with shapes and letters, we can chat about it, give feedback, cheer people. This is a community thing to me.
Here is a quick video I did today on Instagram to announce the thing:
What do you think? Would you be interested in joining me? Again no pressure, you do it whenever you can. You miss a day? Not a problem :) There are no specific rules. You just do collage and try to play with letters.
Use the Collage Lettering Workshop as a frame
Something you can also do is taking the Collage Lettering Workshop and do the exercises as the challenge. Taking the course, you also have access to the Discord for feedback and questions.
Whatever you choose to do, just know that you have different possibilities to join, you can also join at any time and if you want me to share your collages or if you need feedback, just tag me on Instagram (fran6) or here on Substack. I will do my best to reply?
So, are you feeling like joining? Let me know!
Have a nice week and take care,
Francis
