Come chat with me next Tuesday!
I will be hanging with Nadine Chahine from I Love Typography and we will talk about my lettering, fonts and process.
Hi everyone,
Autumn is here now. The change was a bit brutal and I think we all suffer here a bit of all these changes. I am happy to slow down a bit and try to organise the next weeks. I plan a reorganisation of the studio, do more photos and maybe paint some canvases. Yes, I did already buy some brushes and paint, and this afternoon, I will go to the local Fine Arts Supplies shop to see if they have the canvas sizes I am looking for. But as much as I love printing, I want to get back to painting with my current lettering style. Remember that “take care” fake mural I posted on Instagram? That could be a starting point :)
I will share more of this in the coming weeks or on the WhatsApp group if you are a paid supporter.
Webinar with I Love Typography next Tuesday!
Today I wanted to share with you that I have the honour to be invited to a webinar, organised by I Love Typography, where I will talk about my work: lettering, fonts and process.
I will do a workshop with them beginning of November so they thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself so people know my work a bit better.
The webinar will take place online, on Zoom I think, from 4 to 5PM CET.
I really look forward to see you there, and don’t hesitate to prepare questions if you have some.
Inspiration of the week!
This week I discovered two identity projects I really want to share with you because they reflect exactly the kind of systems I like. The first project is more playful when the second one is totally geometric and colourful. Please dear designers, that is your role to show your clients they can use bold, colourful or playful type for their project. This does not always work but in most cases it will bring a strong brand which people will remember.
Here are these 2 projects:

KALW Radio Redesign, by Collins Studio
The paid supporters corner
This week I did share my thoughts about selling fonts after launching a successful bundles the last few weeks. Should I do it more often? Should I lower prices? I share all the details with my paid supporters. If you are interested in getting more in depth around my work or just support my work, please consider subscribing.
This is it for today :) Yes, I know this one is shorter than usual, but I know some of you struggle reading all the long newsletter so sometimes nice and short letters are more than welcomed :) And Substack thinks this is long enough :)
Have a nice weekend, and for those of you who can join, see you at the ILT webinar next Tuesday :)
Take care,
Francis
