Hi Francis, I'm loving where it all comes from and even if I'm not sure about a discord, there is another format I find sometimes helpful wich is an "action time/cafe/call" where people call in and after a 5min intro each one turns off the camera and does what they have to do - content, writing, drawing etc.
Thank you for the reminder ones these good books aaaand that Inktober is just around the corner!
Hi Francis. I remember a comic about inktober that becomes procrastinober. But I agree wholeheartedly, creating everyday is liberating! Off to eat, will write more later...
I admire you for wanting to start a Discord, building community can be a good thing. But I said "no" because I am already in so many Discords, and I host one myself, and all these communities are taking my time away from creating. Discord really is social media and it requires the investment of time in order to be active enough to make participation rewarding. Right now I am culling my Discords to potentially make room for more but it is challenging to decide to leave a server, because you might miss something valuable.
Thank you Carolyn, I totally get what you mean and to be honest I agree with you. Now, my point is not to take away people from creating. It’s even the opposite. I want to help them create more and more precisely I want to help them to find the time to create during an already busy day. And I agree that spending more time on Discord is not going to help. But I did not find another way to create a kind of group of people who would like to create daily without knowing how. So I chose Discord. That could also be WhatsApp that many people. But to me the idea is to help them find that routine and then they don’t need me or the Discord anymore. That’s the idea :)
The fault isn’t Discord. It happens with all platforms. I have been in and out of communities on Telegram, Slack, Circles, Discord, and more, they all take time, and I observe many creatives engaging on platforms as procrastination. From my experience, it might be better to make a daily 5 minute “live” on the platform of your choice and then everyone can go off and do their thing. Anyway good luck with it.

Hi Bel, yes this is a good idea. I am going to start "draw with me" sessions with paid members in October. I will see if the idea could work.
Francis is back! And on a mission. 👏
Thank you my dear :)

Here’s wondering if the mandatory theme is what blocks most creative people, yet following a rule/guidance can unlock things...

There is no perfect solution. I will go with what fits most of the people and we will see how it goes.
